Stephen Curry leads Warriors to victory
The Golden State Warriors rode a huge third quarter to a 120-108 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
The Celtics led by five points at halftime, but the Warriors outscored them by 18 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State with 29 points, while Jordan Poole added 21 off the bench.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 27 points, but he was the only Boston player to score more than 20 points. The Celtics also struggled from three-point range, making just 9 of 34 attempts (26.5%).
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the series with the victory. Game 2 of the series will be played on Sunday in Boston.
