Gauff Receives Help from No. 1 Court Roof in Second-Round Win

American No. 2 seed Coco Gauff defeated Romanian qualifier Anca Todoni in just 66 minutes in the second round of Wimbledon 2024. Gauff, who has spent more than 18 hours on the court in Grand Slam singles matches than any other player, received a bit of help from the roof over No. 1 Court during her win. The ball whistled past Gauff's shoulder and seconds later her hand was over her mouth. Gauff likes No. 1 Court, where she beat Venus Williams back in 2019 when Gauff made her Wimbledon debut.
